PKP: HIPDY – Development and validation of mobile measurement system for muscular capacity

THROUGH CREATIVE WAY TO KNOWLEDGE 2017 – 2020

Duration of the project:

14.2.2020 – 13.7.2020

Project leader:

Prof. Nejc Šarabon (SICRIS, ResearchGate)

Project partners:

S2P, Science to Practice, Ltd.

Summary:

The purpose of the project, in collaboration with S2P, Science in Practice, Ltd., is to help develop a portable measuring device that allows for an objective evaluation of hip muscle strength. The development and testing of the new measuring device will add to its ease of use. As part of the project, students will test the pre-final prototype of the developed measurement system and participate in a pilot study to obtain important information and suggestions for possible improvements. The development of such measuring device is crucial to the profession of kinesiology and physiotherapy as the appropriate strength level of hip muscles and the symmetry between them are two important factors for safe and efficient (i.e. functional) movement and prevention of new injuries.
