Description
Through practical training the student learns about the following topics: specificity of health care of certain surgical departments, nursing care processes in surgical patient; acceptance and preparation of patient for surgery and anaesthesia; learns about risk factors for the patient in the perioperative period, surgery and the effect of surgery on patient; cares for the post-operation patient and for possible complications; the role of nurses in the rehabilitation and nursing care of patient in intensive care unit.
During clinical training the student completes a case study in line with the method of nursing care process and is involved in all nursing care interventions carried out at the department.
