Assessment of abilities and performance is crucial in the preparation of an individualized rehabilitation approach. Furthermore, measurements are important in the monitoring patient progress and in comparing individuals, as well as for research purposes.

A brief description of major research

Our research focuses primarily on the utility of advanced measurements for the assessment of neuromuscular properties of the lower back. We analysed the reliability of methods for the assessment of trunk reflex responses and an ultrasound-based method for evaluating muscle stiffness (e.g. shear wave elastography). These measurements’ properties were additionally evaluated on the neck and posterior thigh muscles.
