• Organised societal efforts to promote, preserve and restore health;
• Definitions of health, with an emphasis on the biopsychosocial model, health status assessment and determinants of health;
• Major health problems, risk factors and levels of intervention;
• Fundamentals of health information systems, health status indicators and epidemiological methods;
• Elements of the healthcare system and the key responsibilities of individual organisational levels of healthcare provision;
• Current health-related topics from the perspectives of health policy, national objectives, strategies and activities.
