Summary of research topic and field

Low energy availability has been shown to reduce performance in some sports disciplines, but it is poorly studied in team sports. Research in this area would provide new findings in team sports, e.g. in football, where energy availability and its effects have not been vastly explored. The main objectives are to examine the extent to which low energy availability exists in the studied population, and to determine whether there is a connection between low energy availability and poorer performance, which can be determined by the parameters of speed, agility, aerobic capacity.
