Description
1. Organisation and implementation of infection prevention programmes in
healthcare: preparation and implementation of regulations and procedures for
infection control (international standards, Slovenian legislation and
regulations), organisation in healthcare institutions (infection control
committee – meaning, composition, tasks of the committee and individual
experts), epidemiological monitoring of infections (concept, types, methods,
methods). 2. Measures for the safety and prevention of infections: general and
specific precautions (with emphasis on new technologies and the implementation
of specific measures in individual patient groups), measures in the event of
outbreaks, immunoprophylaxis and chemoprophylaxis, education and communication
3. Healthcare-associated infections, focusing on emerging and re-emerging
diseases: overview by pathogen (characteristics, epidemiology, transmission,
pathogenesis, prevention, treatment), antimicrobial resistance issues and
management (types and mechanisms of bacterial resistance, antimicrobial agents,
types and mechanisms of action of antibiotics) 4. Infectious diseases and
epidemics, focusing on UN preparedness and action to prevent the spread of
infections
