Conference Health Of Working-Age and Older Adults

We have successfully concluded the 7th scientific and professional conference with international participation, titled “Health of Working-Age and Older Adults”, organized by the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Primorska. The conference took place on Thursday, September 19, 2024, and Friday, September 20, 2024, at the UP Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica.

The conference provided a platform for the integration of diverse topics and perspectives on the health of working-age and older adults, covering areas such as healthcare, physical activity and physiotherapy, ergonomic adaptations, nutrition, as well as technological and informational solutions. Special attention was also given to challenges and opportunities in the health of marginalized and vulnerable groups, chronic diseases, women’s health, and men’s health.

Over the two days, the program featured 4 plenary lectures, 64 abstract presentations, and 22 posters in the poster session. A total of 170 participants from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Slovakia, and Canada attended the event.

The lectures were organized into six sections:

  • Concerns, challenges and opportunities in the health of working-age and older adults (chronic diseases, health of marginalised and vulnerable groups, women’s health/men’s health)
  • Mental health of working-age and older adults,
