Summer school
The Faculty of Health Sciences is participating in the project with the acronym BICEPS (Building Financial Capability for Healthcare Professionals). The aim of the project is to train and prepare healthcare workers and colleagues and increase competences of health professions students in the field of health and financial literacy.
As part of the project, a second summer school will be organised in July 2022 with the participation of students from the three countries involved in the project, namely Italy and the Czech Republic in addition to Slovenia. During the summer school, students will learn more through the workshops:
HEALTH LITERACY
- How to identify gaps in health literacy
- How to influence health literacy in different patient groups
- Assessing patients’ health literacy in relation to out-of-pocket costs
- Health literacy of patients with special needs and their financial knowledge and out-of-pocket costs
- Risk of low health literacy in patients in relation to financial knowledge and out-of-pocket costs
FINANCIAL LITERACY
- How to identify gaps in financial literacy
- How to help yourself set financial goals
- How you can help develop a financial plan
- How to create a personal financial plan
- How to deal with debt, types of credit, defaults and bankruptcies
- How to use consumer protection laws in your everyday life
- Who to ask for financial help
- How to make sound financial decisions and solve problems more easily
