UP Faculty of Health Sciences (UP FVZ) monitors quality with regular Annual Work Programmes, Annual Reports, Self-Evaluation Reports and Field Analyses. The Annual Work Programmes, Financing Plans and Annual Reports test whether the set goals have been achieved and whether the members work successfully and efficiently, thus also ensuring quality is continuously improving. The Self-Evaluation Report, however, is the tool that directly ensures that constant increase of quality. It provides an assessment of the situation and a critical analysis, an analysis of advantages and disadvantages, and proposals to eliminate drawbacks and improve quality. The basic purpose of the Self-Evaluation Report is thus to monitor the situation and improve the activities of the quality assurance system at UP FVZ in all its domains or within the scope of the key and support processes.<\/p>\n
The Quality Assurance Committee consists of seven members: five selected from among higher education teachers, researchers, and higher education or research associates, one administrative staff member, and one student representative.<\/p>\n

A pool of experts will be created to conduct regular internal evaluations of the University’s member institutions, provide opinions on proposed modifications to existing study programmes and on new study programmes, and contribute to the University’s quality assurance and quality monitoring processes.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=”Athlete-Friendly Education Certificate” _builder_version=”4.27.5″ global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n The Olympic Committee of Slovenia \u2013 Association of Sports Federations (OKS-Z\u0160Z) has awarded the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Primorska (UP FVZ) recognition for its well-developed approach to supporting dual careers and providing athlete-friendly education.<\/p>\n Elite athletes dedicate most of their time and energy to training and competitions and are therefore often absent from the educational process at all levels of study. This can affect their academic performance and educational attainment, which may subsequently create challenges when building a career after the end of their sporting career. Acquiring relevant competencies and educational qualifications during an athletic career is therefore an important factor in achieving long-term professional success. This can only be achieved through appropriate accommodations and an understanding of the specific requirements associated with pursuing a dual career. For this reason, the Olympic Committee of Slovenia \u2013 Association of Sports Federations (OKS-Z\u0160Z) awards the \u201cAthlete-Friendly Education\u201d certificate, which promotes activities supporting athletes’ dual careers.<\/p>\n The purpose of the certificate is to recognize educational environments and institutions that provide adapted study conditions for athletes. It serves as a source of information for athletes when choosing an educational institution that offers favourable conditions for combining sport and education, while also providing added value to educational institutions through increased visibility, a comparative advantage, and eligibility criteria for public funding intended to support athletes and their dual careers. The Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Primorska also benefits from obtaining this certificate.<\/p>\n In 2025, the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Primorska was awarded the \u201cAthlete-Friendly Education\u201d certificate, demonstrating its commitment to supporting dual careers and providing an educational environment tailored to the needs of athletes. The recognition is granted by the Olympic Committee of Slovenia \u2013 Association of Sports Federations (OKS-Z\u0160Z).<\/p>\n At the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Primorska (UP FVZ), we support students who successfully pursue both their academic studies and their sporting careers. Students who hold an official athlete or coach status may apply for the status of student athlete or student coach, which enables them to benefit from adjustments to their study obligations and facilitates the balancing of academic and sporting commitments.<\/p>\n Students may obtain this status by submitting an application together with the required supporting documentation, in accordance with the UP Rules on Special Student Statuses. The Rules and the application form are publicly available on the Faculty’s website.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Students holding this status are entitled to various forms of support provided by the Faculty, which are implemented:<\/p>\n – in accordance with the UP Rules on Special Student Statuses; and In all cases, the Faculty takes into account the requirements of the professional profile and the prescribed scope of theoretical and practical education.
